Integration Makes Better Wine

As reported last month July 2007 saw Yara Italia Spa officially completed the acquisition of Phosyn Italia Srl, and started the integration with the former Phosyn operation.

One of the first examples of integration among the two products line was visible last February 2008, in Verona at Fieragricola, the international exhibition for agriculture.

During those days a conference on vineyard nutrition was held by Yara, with some of the most important wine producers taking part. The first speech was made by Prof. Duilio Porro from San Michele all’Adige school of agriculture and was about managing the nitrogen nutrition for the vineyard balance, experience and correlation with the most important grape quality parameters.

Stefano Zaninotti, former grapevine crop manager in Phosyn Italia, now in Yara Italia, spoke about how nutrition can help grapevine in enhancing berry skin resistance and elasticity with positive influence on reducing botrytis attack and sour rot. Mr. Zaninotti referred to the good results from trials he conducted using YaraVita™ products, such as YaraVita™ Stopical.

Silvia Casalini, agronomist in Yara, was in charge for the third speech about the fertigation in vineyard, how to optimise tools, products and results with a measured approach. She has a wide experience in fertigation and gave the right indication on how to combine it with the YaraMila™ range, in order to produce quality grape.

In the conference in Verona the agronomists have made a good outlook of the Yara range of products, together with their different but effective approach to such an important crop and market.
