YaraVita™ Betatrel boosts sugar yield

An independent sugar beet field trial conducted by Armstrong Fisher Ltd at Docking, Norfolk, UK in 2007 produced a statistically significant adjusted root yield response.

YaraVita Betatrel is specifically formulated for use on sugar beet crops as a multi-nutrient (composite) powder product, with elemental contents sodium, magnesium, boron, manganese, and nitrogen.

YaraVita Betatrel was foliar spray applied when the crop was at the 4 to 6 leaf stage and then again 14 days when the crop was at the 6 to 8 leaf stage. The application rate was 2.5 kg/ha on both spray occasions.

The calculated adjusted root yields (root yield multiplied by the IPA sugar factor – grower payment scale) were statistically significantly higher for the YaraVita Betatrel treated plots. Using 2007 prices for product and adjusted tonne of beet, this meant that the YaraVita Betatrel treatment generated a net profit of £32.53 per hectare.

The YaraVita Betatrel treatment response in this trial has demonstrated that, when applied at the 4 to 6 leaf stage and again 14 days later, the product offers significant opportunities for growers who are aiming to achieve important yield targets.
