YaraVita™ Teprosyn Zn/P Boosts Root Growth
The importance of zinc (Zn) and phosphorus (P) for strong early crop development and the establishment of a good root system is shown in the photographs (right) of two corn varieties taken in the Mid West State of Nebraska.
Plants of two varieties of corn, Dekalb 63-69 and Garst 8581, were pulled from trial plots and are shown, either treated or untreated with Teprosyn Zn/P seed dressing.
In both cases, along with stronger "top" growth, the treated plants have a larger, more branched root network which confers
greater ability to find water, with higher
drought tolerance, and to forage better for
other nutrients, meaning more efficient
use of applied fertilizers.
The more advanced stage of growth and development with YaraVita™ Teprosyn Zn/P seed treatment also sets the crops up for the coming season thus enabling optimization of their genetic yield potential at harvest.
Optimization of the genetic potential of crop varieties will be a major contributor to improving yields and productivity to meet the global food, fuel and fibre demands of the future.
Again, a YaraVita™ product shows the contribution it can make in helping achieve these goals.
