YaraVita™ Seniphos Shows its True Colours!
Independent research has been conducted by the University of Bonn in Germany on the effects that YaraVita™ Seniphos has on apple colouration, fruit sugar content and firmness.
The scientific paper was published in the German Journal for fruit production entitled "Erwerbs-Obstbau".
YaraVita™ Seniphos was applied twice at a rate of 10 l/ha at weekly intervals prior to harvest onto the apple test crop which was the variety Elstar.
The findings of this study support many of the field trials that have been conducted internationally over many years with regard to fruit firmness, sugar content and in particular the red colouration in bi-coloured varieties.
The paper in "Erwerbs-Obstbau" reported an increase in fruit firmness in the treated tree´s outer canopy and an improvement in fruit sugar content from both the inner and outer canopies. Though the most impressive result was an increase in red colouration with a 17% increase reported in those fruit having more than 25% colouration which gave an 8% rise in Class 1 fruit.
At the time this paper was published in December 2006 this would have meant an increase of 1060 €uros/ha which you will agree is a very profitable outcome for the grower from using YaraVita™ Seniphos.
