There´s a storm coming!

While travelling recently in Kansas, I narrowly missed coming face to face with a major storm that had passed through the region (pictured).

This time of the year can be very unsettled in the central prairies of the US and 2004 has been no different as you can see. To give some perspective to the photograph, the trees that can be made out stand at 15 metres!

The impact on the local corn crops was devastating, as the hail that accompanied the storm fell straight downwards, stripping the ears from the corn stalks.
The locals call them a "crop of broomsticks"!
