Research glasshouse on the move

The final trial conducted in the Phosyn Agronomy Department glasshouse at "The Ranch" in Pocklington was harvested on December 5th. This brought to an end 25 years of Phosyn R & D at this facility. To mark the occasion, all the previous Trainee Agronomists who are currently Phosyn employees were invited to gather for a historic photograph.

It proved impossible to have all eleven personnel present on the same date, illustrating the divergent nature of the roles that they now perform within Phosyn. Neverless the photo shows ten who were able to assemble for the reunion standing in chronological order from Senior Agronomist (left) to current Trainee Agronomist (right).

The combined length of service to Phosyn from the eleven personnel is 140 years - see if you can work out the identity of the experienced manager who was unable to be present using the position of the gap in the photo.

It may be the end of an era at the Ranch but a new chapter in the history of Phosyn´s Agronomy R & D starts at the Head Office site in the New Year. The re-erected and refurbished glasshouse should be ready for business as usual in the second half of February 2004. Meanwhile Adam Richardson will continue to test the safety and efficacy of new formulation ideas from the Product Development Department by collaborating with the team at Hydro-Agri Product and Application research glasshouse in Hanninghof, Germany.
