Sulphur fallout shortage - bring on the Photrel
A recent Farmer´s Weekly article highlighted evidence of the increasing requirement for sulphur applications to UK oilseed rape (canola) crops. In recent Dalgety trials it was reported that additions of sulphur were showing good yield responses. The article went on to discuss decreasing atmospheric deposits, coupled with a 5% sulphur input reduction being accompanied by a 22% drop in UK average yield over the last 3 years.
Phosyn´s Photrel was specifically designed for use on oilseed crops and, while now successfully applied to a far wider range of crops, is an excellent approach to deliver foliar sulphur along with other key nutrients to UK oilseed rape crops. Trials in France, Australia and the UK have consistently shown Photrel to be an ideal product for oilseed rape.
In this UK trial, a single application of Photrel was applied at label rates and timings. As seen in the graphs the application gave good yield and oil content responses even at these relatively high UK yield levels (based on Farmer´s Weekly reports yields averaging 2.55 t/ha last year).
