Reduce premature nut fall

In walnut production, standard bacteriose treatment consists of copper sprays (Bordeaux Mixture). The bacteriose disease leads to premature nut fall, which can have seious economic impact on the walnut crop.

In an independent trial carried out in France in the 2001 season, Hydromag 500, Agripotash and Caltrac were studied to see if they would improve the control of bacteriose when added to the standard copper fungicide programme.

Including Caltrac in the fungicide programme significantly reduced bacteriose incidence and therefore premature nut fall.
