Quality water melon production
In 2001 trials work, Seniphos applications were made to water melons in China. This independent, replicated work was targetted at the commercial benefits of fruit weight and quality through reducing hollow fruit.
Seniphos was applied 3 times at a rate of 3 l/ha, starting at fruit set and at 10 to 14 day intervals.
Seniphos applications gave a 17% increase in average size. Hollow fruit disorder means unmarketable fruit and in this trial Seniphos applications reduced the incidence from 40% to 10%.
