Wine Grape Production and the Foliar Solution

The relationship of potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), and calcium may be more important in quality wine grapes than in any other crop produced in the United States. This relationship has a profound effect on grape must quality and therefore the quality of the wine produced. The combination of these three essential nutrients and their chemical products within the vine forms a delicate balance in the final result of the grower´s efforts. Imbalances of these nutrients and their chemical products can be addressed during the growing season using tissue and/or soil analysis and Phosyn foliar nutrient sprays.

Megalab is an Internet based system developed by Phosyn to give an interpretation and recommendation from analysis results. Nutrient guidelines have been developed over many years to look at optimum nutrient levels so that the crop can be monitored right through the season. Megalab interpretation is a free Internet based service available exclusively from Phosyn to give customers precise interpretation and recommendations from analysis.

For quality wine grape production, samples should be taken preflower, at flowering stage and at ripening (veraison).
