Cereals yield 10t/ha in the Egyptian Sahara
So you think your region has sandy soils?
In the Egyptian Sahara the soil medium has an especially low nutrient holding capacity. The sandy Sahara cannot be relied upon for the elements essential to crop production.
By following the Phosyn approach yields of 10 t/ha have been achieved in the region. This is now the target every year.
The Phosyn programme involves Agriphos and Hydrophos as well as a full trace element package. All products are applied with the irrigation water through the centre pivot which gives continuous nutritional supply throughout the crop´s life cycle.
Growing a cereal crop in the Egyptian Sahara is no mean feat. Growing a cereal crop yielding 10 t/ha can be looked upon as a real achievement!
