Farmers keen as mustard

On-going development and evaluation work in India has highlighted the benefits of Teprosyn on a wide range of crops.

Trial results from the Haryana area of Northern India have indicated the significant boost that Teprosyn use can give to the mustard crop.

Small scale farmers applied Teprosyn to their own seed - at a rate of 15 ml per kilo of seed. Observations from the farmers were:

"Teprosyn improved root growth and plant development"
"Physically Teprosyn treated plots were very appealing"

The average yield for the Teprosyn treated crop (bottom left) was increased by 13% over the untreated crop (top left). For the small farmer this equates to returning Rs 48 per every rupee he invested in Teprosyn. This is an attractive return highlighting the niche market that Teprosyn can fill with small, low income farmers. The low application rate means low outlay and the early season vigour offers good returns to the farmer through a stronger crop leading to higher yields.
