Micronutrients are essential for winter cereals
The counter to low grain prices can only be bigger yields of better quality with costs kept to a minimum. But what can one cut back on ??? - certainly not trace elements !
To realise the full potential of modern, high yielding varieties balanced nutrition is essential. All other inputs - even the strobilurins - merely give protection (albeit essential) but they can´t correct a deficiency or prevent winter kill.
Manganese - and the much overlooked copper too - give that winter protection and strengthen crops to resist disease. Newly emerged crops must have these vital nutrients in abundance to be at their best.
Because of the relatively low cost, trace elements are often thought of as ´optional extras´ but instead they should be seen as basic essentials upon which all else relies to give the best possible harvest.
Don´t forget that there are few chances to spray before winter so crops must have products which do the job i.e. acceptable in any tank mix (we can check out any tank mix for you) - giving lots of nutrient - and which keep on feeding. Mantrac 500 and Coptrel 500 have all these qualities as well being safe to the crop and the operator.
Teprosyn Manganese seed treatment provides manganese right from germination and complements autumn foliar sprays. ADAS and Phosyn trials demonstrate more yield and quality benefits from autumn applied Mn than ´spring only´ treatment. The best though is autumn followed by spring treatment.
In case there is only one chance to spray make sure the tank mix includes nutrient-rich Phosyn products.
