Livestock - Grasstrac Booklet - 02

Creating more productive pastures

An ideal pasture will provide a plentiful supply of nutritious and inexpensive feed and enable livestock farmers to produce the best quality lamb and beef, and help ensure dairy cows achieve their full potential.

Unfortunately not all pastures are ideal and farmers are left with the choice of either moving stock to a better pasture, which is not always possible, or improving the pasture they have available.

This is where Grasstrac can play a vital role.

Grasstrac contains the essential trace elements – Copper, Selenium, Cobalt, Iodine, Zinc, plus Sodium and by adding it to deficient soil the grass becomes richer and capable of sustaining the production levels required. It helps nature provide the quality of pasture needed for healthy livestock growth and economic production.

Extensive analysis, carried out by ADAS and others, of herbage samples from around the country, shows that a high percentage have less than the required levels of many trace elements and that treatment to correct these shortfalls is urgently needed.

Livestock farmers everywhere have confirmed that Grasstrac provides an easy and yet very effective method of enriching grass and making it more nutritious and productive. Read the experience of a few of them in the following pages.
